Purpose
This website has been
created to provide information about a variety of policies and
procedures related to course instruction for CLA faculty, instructors, and teaching assistants. In particular, the college
expects instructors to articulate clear course standards and ground
rules in a syllabus distributed at the first class meeting (or at least
during the first week). Each year misunderstandings arise between
students and instructors that could have been avoided by earlier
clarification of course ground rules. Other topics covered on this website include: registration/cancellation deadlines, accommodating students with disabilities, resolving scholastic misconduct, honoring confidentiality, checking prerequisites, administering exams, and reporting grades.
This website is designed as a reference for instructors to use when addressing student questions regarding college policies and procedures. These procedures apply only to students enrolled in the College of Liberal Arts (CLA). Students registered in a CLA course while enrolled in another college follow the procedures their own college prescribes.
