— Claudia Hasegawa, Community Coordinator

Student traffic has been light during the past few weeks so staff has taken advantage of this time by getting through various illnesses before registration begins. Staff also spent time using the new APAS for athletic review.

Margaret attended the Curriculum Integration Conference where topics of discussion included how to sustain the current momentum in study abroad at the U, creating footprints in specific locations abroad for U-sponsored programs, an interface with PeopleSoft to track our students who are abroad, as well as presentations on UMTC programs in Cuernavaca, Minnesota Studies in International Development - MSID programs, and UMD's programs in Sweden.

Both Margaret and Katy participated in the More than a Major Fair where they had the opportunity to talk with students and departmental staff about a variety of topics. Jeff represented the Asian Languages and Literatures (ALL) department for the first time at this event. The t-shirts were very impressive this year.

Claudia finished up the remaining major APAS for the ALL major, formerly known as ALCM – Asian Literatures, Cultures, and Media, which was formerly known as ALL. The current major has six subplans. We encourage everyone to take a look at them.
