Got Cake?
6/3/05 at 4:18:23 PM

— Duane Smith, Community Coordinator

Society and Culture scored significant victories at the Dean's recent reception and cake walk to thank CLASS staff for their efforts in reaching out to prospective freshmen. Marsha Williams, Karen Crouch, and Emily Mraz all walked away with cakes. All right!

Congratulations to former peer adviser Liz Orenstein on her graduation and her new temporary job as assistant to Mark Taylor, Director of Advising. Liz will go far, though she hasn't gone far (just down the hall).

We're welcoming a new peer adviser, Tim Kimball. Tim's a transfer student, majoring in English.

Duane Smith attended the recent Study Abroad Curriculum Integration workshop at Ruttger's Lodge, He's also been busy working on the schedule for Orientation Training. Karen Crouch, Maureen Kelly Neerland, and Natan Paradise are all making presentations for the training. Karen is presenting, "Advising Pre-Business Students;" Maureen is presenting "Overview of Academic & Non-Academic Support Services;" and Natan is presenting "Registration Considerations."

When not otherwise occupied, we're clearing students for graduation, beginning probation review, and advising continuing students.
