www.offcampusstudy.umn.edu

CCLC's CLA Career Services office helps CLA students explore majors, careers, internships, and grad schools, and it helps them develop essential job-search skills. (This office is also the pre-law advising office for all UMTC students.) CCLC’s 345 Fraser office serves all UMTC students in the areas listed below. CLA advisers are an integral part of informing students about these services. As beneficial as the services are, many students don’t know about them until an adviser points them out. Thanks in advance for doing so.

Resources and programs through CCLC's 345 Fraser Hall office:
  • Community Engagement Scholars Program: This program allows students to receive official U of M recognition for public service. Students fulfill service-learning requirements and projects to graduate with special honors.
  • Info and advice about volunteering in the Twin Cities: Through personalized advising, CCLC helps students find local volunteer opportunities that are a good match for their interests and goals.
  • Service-learning classes: CCLC cultivates partnerships with faculty and nonprofits to develop a diverse array of courses, then helps plug in students. CCLC supports students in these classes through trainings, advising, and classroom presentations.
  • National Student Exchange: The NSE program gives students a chance to study at another school in the U.S. or Canada for a semester or a year.
  • HECUA: These semester-long programs (16 credits) allow students to focus on social justice issues while studying off-campus in the Twin Cities. Students can focus on the environment, arts, writing for social change, or urban studies. (Special summer-term programs focus on civil rights or agriculture.)
Resources and programs through CCLC's CLA Career office: To learn more about any of these programs, events or services, click the links above or contact the CCLC offices. Feel free to visit!

Rebecca Rassier, the IDP Coordinator, is also the CLA coordinator for the Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program (UROP). She receives all of the liberal arts applications and administers the process by supporting the faculty committee that selects the grant winners.
